My last journal was over a year ago so I thought I'd update just a bit. Four months seems like a long time when they let you off in May, but it's already August now. Although I've caught up on my reading (a feat previously impossible due to high school summer reading demands), I have let my writing slip. In three months, I have barely a short story and a barebones travel journal to show for my efforts and wasted time. I've been shamed a bit by fellow older writers who have worked diligently for ten years to self publish a book or who wrote eight hours a day for twelve months straight. So, in admiration of their dedication, I have decided to embark on a militant writing regime for the next two and half weeks. Hopefully my writing boot camp will yield better results than the rest of the summer and convince me to stop dragging my feet about practicing my future career. Wish me luck!
